Chelsea want to re-sign former striker Romelu Lukaku from Everton

The Blues sold the Belgium international to Everton in 2014 for a fee of £28 million, but reports suggest that the Blues are attempting to recruit the striker for a second time  - after he initially spent a season on loan at Goodison Park - and the 23-year-old has since scored 61 goals in 127 appearances.

Chelsea have subsequently explored the prospect of acquiring their former striker, though Everton would demand a fee of £61m for their prized asset, which is understood to be more than the Blues are willing to spend. 

Chelsea have also targeted Napoli star Gonzalo Higuain and Juventus forward Alvaro Morata as they attempt to bolster their forward line.
